Sonko peste encore sur la Justice : “Le peuple n'y croit plus tellement…”
Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko remains dissatisfied with the way justice is administered. This Saturday, after praying in Ziguinchor, he addressed reporters, emphasizing the importance of justice in a state. He stated that a country without justice is inevitably an underdeveloped country.
“So justice is important and this project has not yet begun, let alone been completed. The same flaws that we denounced are still there and it is important that justice is applied in the most transparent way, but also as equally to all citizens, all citizens,” he said.
What the Prime Minister wants is for justice to always be served if it is established that the law has been blatantly violated, regardless of the person's rank. But what he seems to regret today is that many cases are currently gathering dust in drawers.
“Today there are cases that are languishing, that have been waiting for a long time and are not being dealt with in a consistent manner. And that is why today the people no longer really believe in a good application of justice and it is a task that calls on us all,” says Ousmane Sonko.
