Words and deeds. Gold miner Issa Cissokho Mané hasn't forgotten his community. He has just made a major gesture by fully funding a state-of-the-art health post and a fully equipped ambulance for his village of Soréto, in the commune of Sadatou (Bakel department).

An investment of 220 million FCFA

The construction of the Soréto health post, which began in 2022, cost 220 million CFA francs. Issa Cissokho financed this infrastructure with his own funds and donated it to the State for the benefit of the populations of about ten villages in this area of eastern Senegal.

The mayor of Sadatou emphasized the importance of the project for the Senegalese government, which is working towards "technical and territorial development with strong technical services." This facility complements the fully equipped ambulance, also entirely funded by the president of the Soréto youth association.

The sub-prefect of the district of Kenieba said he was very satisfied with Issa Cissokho's gesture, praising "the fine example given by a citizen who understood that the State is me, it is you and it is each of us".

Issa Cissokho expressed his pride: "I am very proud of the inauguration of this hospital, acquired thanks to you and for you. We must never forget our roots. On the contrary, let us ensure that each of us can contribute to building a radiant and prosperous Senegal. This is what motivates my actions for Soréto, my village and its surroundings."

Mapathé Sy, president of the Bakel departmental council, appealed to the highest authorities to have young Issa awarded the rank of Knight of the Order of Merit. He also encouraged young people to follow the example of Issa Cissokho, who has not forgotten his community.

For the inhabitants of this gold-mining village and its surroundings, Issa Cissokho is already considered an immortal. He is described by several astute observers as a composed and calm personality who doesn't need to be on social media to be noticed.
