Station EDK-OIL de Kédougou : Le gérant détourne 5,4 millions F CFA et perd tout sur Xbet
A scandal has rocked the EDK-OIL gas station in Kédougou, where manager A. Seck is suspected of embezzling over 5.4 million CFA francs. According to Seneweb sources, the suspect allegedly used the funds to gamble on the online gaming platform Xbet. He lost everything, resulting in a deficit of 5,416,700 CFA francs.
It all started when C. Diop, head of the EDK-OIL control department, conducted an accounting audit of the station which revealed a shortfall in the accounts. He then filed a complaint against the suspect.
When questioned about the events, A. Seck, the station manager, admitted to embezzling the money for personal use by placing sports bets on Xbet. The suspect was taken into custody for breach of trust at the Kédougou central police station. His appearance before the prosecutor is scheduled for Wednesday, according to Seneweb sources.
