Tambacounda : Un cultivateur tue son petit frère de 15 ans pour une histoire d'âne

A family tragedy has plunged the village of Bambadinka, in the Missirah district of the Tambacounda region, into mourning. At around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Mr. Keïta, a 22-year-old farmer, killed his brother, G. Keïta, 15, after an argument over a donkey that escalated.

Yesterday, Monday, October 27, around 2 p.m., Mr. Keïta asked his younger brother, G. Keïta, to take care of their donkey. This didn't please the younger brother. Words were exchanged, and the tone rose. The simple request turned into an argument, before the two brothers came to blows. But neighbors intervened and managed to separate and calm the two young men. The matter seemed settled.

A few hours later, around 5 p.m., Mr. Keïta went to the village shop to get some money. He found his little brother sitting there. He then asked him if he had taken care of the donkey. The younger brother's response was scathing. This did not please Mr. Keïta, who decided to punish his little brother for this insolence. But the people present intervened and separated them again.

The older brother stayed at the store for a while to calm his nerves before turning back. But his little brother wasn't done yet. As soon as Mr. Keïta set foot in their home, G. Keïta attacked him again.

But to avoid any conflict, the eldest decides to leave. He leaves the family home to let the tension ease.

Tuesday morning: the fatal attack in the mother's room

The next day, Tuesday, October 28, around 8 a.m., the 15-year-old still hadn't settled his score with his older brother. G. Keïta entered their mother's room where his older brother was. This time, the younger brother was armed with a knife. He attacked his older brother. Mr. Keïta defended himself as best he could. According to his version of events, he managed to wrestle the knife from his attacker's hands during the struggle and, in the process, dealt a fatal blow to his younger brother. He collapsed. At only 15 years old, the young farmer lost his life, according to Seneweb sources.

The gendarmes of the Dialacoto local police station, alerted to the tragedy, arrested Mr. Keïta, who is in police custody. He is being prosecuted for assault and battery resulting in death without intent to cause death.
