Thiès : trois élèves d'un lycée technique arrêtés pour vol et tentative de vol avec effraction
A scandal is shaking the François Xavier Ndione Technical High School in Thiès, where three students in their twenties have been arrested for thefts that occurred within the school, according to Seneweb sources.
It all began on Monday, July 6, 2026. The school security guard spotted MMC leaving the refrigeration and air conditioning department on a motorcycle, accompanied by another individual. A check revealed that an air conditioner motor coil was missing.
Summoned to the principal's office, the student admitted to the facts and returned the stolen item.
On the same day, around 4 p.m., two other students, MN and AS, also broke into the refrigeration and air conditioning workshop by smashing a window. They were caught on the spot by the school's security guard.
Finally, on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 6:39 p.m., YG, the deputy headmaster of the high school, took the three students to the Nguinth police station for theft and attempted burglary. All three are in their third year of electromechanical engineering studies at the school.
When questioned by police, MMC, MN, and AS admitted to the charges against them. They were taken into custody. The public prosecutor's office was notified, and an investigation has been opened.
