Thiès : Un agent de sécurité poignardé à trois reprises par son frère pour une histoire de cigarette
A family dispute over cigarette consumption almost turned into a tragedy in Nguinth, in the commune of Thiès, where a mechanic attacked his brother with a knife before fleeing.
The incident occurred when A. Doumbia, a security guard working at a public university, caught his younger brother C. Doumbia, a mechanic by profession, smoking a cigarette.
Faced with his older brother's reprimands, the mechanic lost his temper. A verbal altercation quickly escalated into a violent fight. C. Doumbia then pulled out a knife and stabbed his brother three times before fleeing the scene.
On December 30, B. Doumbia, also a mechanic and a family member, went to the Nguinth police station to report that his brother had been stabbed.
Seriously injured, A. Doumbia was taken to the emergency room of the Thiès Regional Hospital, where medical staff found three deep stab wounds. A medical certificate established a 15-day period of temporary incapacity for work.
According to testimonies gathered during the neighborhood investigation, C. Doumbia is described as a belligerent and violent individual. He is reportedly a drug user and is known for terrorizing his own family, according to Seneweb sources.
The investigations carried out by the investigators led to the arrest of the suspect at his workplace.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the Nguinth police station referred C. Doumbia to the prosecutor's office for assault and battery with a bladed weapon resulting in a 15-day period of incapacity for work. The mechanic was remanded in custody and is awaiting trial for his actions.
