In Tivaouane, the Tabaski prayer led in Khalkhouss by Serigne Cheikh Tidiane Sy Abdou on Thursday, May 28, 2026, served as a platform for the Caliph General of the Tijaniyya, Serigne Babacar Sy Mansour, represented by Serigne Babacar Sy Abdou Ndiol Fouta, to deliver, through Oustaz Pape Makhtar Kébé, a message of peace to the leaders of the Republic's institutions. He urged them to prioritize dialogue and place the interests of Senegal above all other considerations.

“The Caliph calls upon the highest authorities of the State to place Senegal before their personal interests, their ranks, and the positions they hold,” said Pape Makhtar Kébé. He asks them to fully appreciate the importance of the responsibilities that fall upon them, while bearing in mind that one day they will have to answer for their actions before Allah. He also invites them to join hands and work together for the development of the country.

This was an opportunity for the Caliph to deliver a message of peace to all the Caliphs General of Senegal, as well as to political parties, both those aligned with the president and those in opposition. Once again, Serigne Babacar Sy Mansour warned against the dangers of social media and urged parents to carefully monitor their children's use of applications like TikTok, Facebook, and the internet in general.

“We must not abandon our children to social media, which, through various types of content, spreads counter-values,” the Khalif stated. He deplored the slander, the attacks against public figures and ordinary citizens alike, amplified by social media, theft, and the rise in crime. The official delegation representing the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, was led by Deputy Governor Ababacar Sadikh Niang.
