Tivaouane : plus de 100 jeunes meurent en mer, la Croix-Rouge sonne l’alerte générale !
To address the phenomenon of irregular immigration, a scourge that has led to the death of more than a hundred young people in the department of Tivaouane, the Senegalese Red Cross deemed it necessary to mobilize by announcing a national holiday camp to retain candidates, under the theme: "Raising awareness and prevention for sustainable solutions against irregular immigration which has decimated more than a hundred young people in the department".
A meeting was initiated by the Senegalese Red Cross in Tivaouane, during which the national summer camp to be held in Dakar, the Senegalese capital, next September, was a key topic of discussion. The organizers also noted that activities are already underway in preparation for this camp, which aims to combat irregular migration, a growing and devastating phenomenon in Senegal.
Assane Samb, the Red Cross's departmental head in Tivaouane, explains that this summer camp will bring young people together around the theme of promoting sustainable alternatives to irregular migration. He indicates that through this initiative, the youth of the Tivaouane departmental Red Cross have mobilized to raise awareness among young people about the dangers of irregular migration, encourage prevention, and promote sustainable solutions that foster integration and community development.
The departmental committee in charge of the organization invites all stakeholders to support such a dynamic.
