Trafic de drogue entre Sacré-Cœur et Almadies : Djibril Carter piégé par une commande policière
The Dakar regional narcotics brigade, under the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS), arrested two suspected drug traffickers in two separate operations carried out in Sacré-Cœur and Almadies, according to Seneweb sources.
First police raid: Djibril Carter arrested in Sacré-Cœur with hashish
On January 11, 2026, at approximately 2:20 a.m., detectives arrested D. Diarra, born in 1997, a Senegalese national and businessman residing in Sacré-Cœur. Known in criminal circles as "Djibril Carter," he was in possession of two balls of hashish.
His arrest followed an anonymous tip about a drug dealer operating in the area. To catch him, a member of the police force contacted the suspect by phone and ordered two balls of hashish. The dealer arranged to meet in Sacré-Cœur, near the Le Comptoir restaurant, to finalize the transaction.
Caught in a trap, D. Diarra was arrested with the object of the order, 45,000 CFA francs, and an iPhone 13 Pro. A search of his home uncovered a veritable arsenal of drug trafficking: five foreign currency bills (dalasis), a bag of skunk, a grinder, electronic scales, aluminum foil, plastic bags, and a motorcycle.
Faced with overwhelming evidence, the suspect confirmed his status as a drug trafficker and revealed that he obtained his supplies from a supplier named P. Gomez. He was taken into custody for possession and trafficking of drugs (hashish and skunk). The drugs, motorcycle, cash, cell phone, and packaging materials were seized and placed under seal.
Second arrest: a kush network dismantled in Almadies
On January 6, 2026, officers from the same BRS (Brigade de Répression du Sécurité - Security Brigade) arrested an individual in Almadies (old airstrip) in possession of 66 kepas of kush and six cones of Indian hemp. The individual is B. Diallo, born in 2004 in Guinea, residing in Almadies (old airstrip), and identifying himself as a mason.
This arrest is the result of intelligence indicating the operation of a drug trafficking network in the Almadies area and its surroundings. A team was immediately dispatched to the scene to apprehend the suspect and anyone else involved in the network.
The surveillance and intervention team caught the suspect in the act of distributing the prohibited product. Officers arrested him with the aforementioned drugs, a mobile phone, and 2,500 CFA francs.
When questioned about the origin of the drugs, B. Diallo unconvincingly denied owning the prohibited substance. The narcotics, the mobile phone, and the sum of money were seized and placed under seal. He was taken into custody for possession of cannabis and kush for the purpose of trafficking.
These two operations demonstrate the vigilance and effectiveness of the Dakar BRS (Brigade de Recherches Spécialisées – Special Research Brigade) in the fight against drug trafficking in the capital and its surrounding areas. The investigation continues to dismantle all the networks and arrest the accomplices, including the supplier P. Gomez mentioned by D. Diarra.
