Transition agroécologique : Des organisations paysannes de femmes de la Guinée-Bissau, de Kolda et de Ziguinchor partagent leurs expériences
"The dynamics of agroecological transition in Senegal and Guinea-Bissau." This is the theme of the meeting in the southern capital of four women's farmers' organizations from the Kafo region of Guinea-Bissau: Foddé from Kolda, Ajac Lukaal from Niaguis, and Usoforal from Ziguinchor. This meeting follows up on previous meetings held in Guinea-Bissau and Kolda.
The meeting in Ziguinchor facilitated fruitful exchanges and the sharing of experiences regarding the agroecological transition. Oumou Aminata Dramé, project manager at the Regional Committee of Women's Solidarity for Peace in Casamance (Usoforal), reflected on the momentum generated and the hope it fostered.
"Through our activities, we are already seeing changes on the ground. We plan to continue this momentum, because we are dealing with a fairly broad theme that requires collaboration among organizations for greater impact on the ground. Hence our presence in the center. Since we are talking about agroecology, the setting is ideal for sharing experiences, discussing all the issues related to the agroecological transition with what the consortium member organizations are doing, each in their respective region," she said.
The regions of Ziguinchor and Kolda, and Oyu in Guinea-Bissau, are involved in this consortium. This unified agroecological approach must be sustained. "We have already established avenues for collaboration that will allow us to develop agroecological practices in certain areas. We will continue and explore how to create markets for agroecological products, set up sales and marketing platforms, and foster a dynamic exchange of products," explained the project manager at Usoforal.
In this dynamic of agroecological transition, it is urgent that organizations work together, as several factors hinder this dynamic, according to Oumou Aminata Dramé.
