Violences familiales : un berger frappe sa mère pour de l’argent destiné à la drogue
In Mbour, G. Faye, a 45-year-old shepherd, was sentenced to one year in prison for assaulting his mother, D. Sène, in the village of Mbafaye (Fissel commune). According to L'Observateur, the incident occurred when the accused, who is his mother's only son, demanded money from her to buy alcohol and cannabis. When she refused, he hit his mother, threatened to kill her, and ransacked and then set fire to her material possessions (furniture, clothing, etc.).
Saved by the intervention of the villagers, the victim alerted the police.
Despite the son's denials during his trial - where he notably claimed to be the owner of the house, which his mother disputes - videos taken by witnesses proved his guilt, the same source added.

Un fils unique devrait en principe être la fierté de sa mère, son bonheur terrestre; s'occuper de sa nourriture, de sa santé et de ses biens matériels.
