Vol en Gambie : un Sénégalais dérobe plus d'un million de Dalasis et se fait arrêter à Vélingara
The scenario of a daring flight between Gambia and Senegal ended with the arrest of the main suspect in Vélingara.
Originally from this locality, OD, a Senegalese resident of Vélingara, recently went to Serekunda, in Gambia.
According to Seneweb, he allegedly committed a theft there involving a sum exceeding one million Dalasis, before fleeing to Senegalese territory to escape the Gambian authorities.
But his escape was short-lived. Alerted by the Gambian police, who provided the suspect's photo and details of his description, the Vélingara territorial brigade, under the command of Chief Warrant Officer Tidiane Senghor, immediately launched a search operation.
Thanks to the responsiveness and coordination between the security forces of the two countries, the fugitive was located and arrested in Vélingara. After his arrest, he was taken into custody before being brought before the competent court this Thursday to answer for his actions.
