Ziguinchor : Un trafiquant arrêté dans un bar avec 16 képas de crack en provenance de Guinée-Bissau
The investigation unit of the Ziguinchor central police station put an end to the activities of a suspected drug trafficker, aged 28, on Saturday night. He was arrested in possession of 16 packets of crack cocaine, which he intended to resell in the town.
The operation took place on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 4:25 a.m. BR police officers were conducting a routine patrol when they spotted an individual behaving suspiciously near the Beureup Sangam bar, according to Seneweb sources.
The man's suspicious behavior attracted the attention of the detectives. A routine check revealed a bag containing 16 kilos of crack cocaine, a highly addictive and dangerous drug.
The man arrested has been identified as Mr. Boiro, born in 1998. He resides in Kandialang and works as a tile setter. He is currently in police custody at the central police station. The drugs have been seized for the purposes of the ongoing investigation.
When questioned briefly, Mr. Boiro stated that he had bought the drugs from a certain Pablo who resides in Guinea-Bissau, thus confirming the cross-border nature of this trafficking.
Initially, the tile setter claimed that the drugs were for his personal use. However, cornered by the police officers' questions, he quickly retracted his statement and admitted that he intended to resell the 16 packets of crack cocaine at a unit price of 5,000 CFA francs, which would have earned him a total of 80,000 CFA francs.
