CAN 2025 : la ministre des Sports s’incline devant la mémoire de l’étudiante décédée
We now know more about the identity of the victim of the road accident in Morocco involving three Senegalese nationals on the sidelines of the 2025 AFCON. The deceased was a young Senegalese student, tragically killed in Tangier.
In response to this tragedy, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Khady Diene Gaye, paid tribute to the victim through a message published on her Facebook page, expressing her deep sadness and solidarity with the bereaved family.
The entire message
It is with deep sadness and strong emotion that I learned of the tragic death of a young Senegalese student, which occurred following a road accident in Tangier, at the same time as another of her compatriots was seriously injured, after the match between Senegal and Sudan in the context of the "Morocco 2025" AFCON.
In these painful circumstances, I wish, on behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and in my own name, to express my sincere condolences to the bereaved family, to the relatives of the victim, to the Senegalese student community as well as to all our compatriots established in the Kingdom of Morocco.
My thoughts are also with the other seriously injured student, to whom I send my warmest wishes for a speedy recovery, as well as with her family, to whom I express my full support and solidarity.
May the Almighty receive the deceased into His infinite mercy.
May his soul rest in peace.

Elle peut s’exprimer ainsi en tant que citoyenne, pas en tant que membre du gouvernement.
Sinon, pourquoi pas aussi le ministre des Affaires étrangères qui parlerait au nom des Sénégalais de l’extérieur ?
Concernant le président de l’Assemblée, rappelons que la victime était majeure, donc en âge de voter pour un honorable représentant, quel que soit son nom — Bougazelli ou un autre.
Prières et compassion pour cette pauvre âme qui nous a quittés.

Que la FSF fassen observer à la CAF une minute de silence en la mémoire du défunt.
