The CAF president expressed his profound gratitude to FIFA president Gianni Infantino, emphasizing his crucial role in strengthening African football's position on the world stage. He described this partnership as essential for the future of football on the continent. "Today, Morocco welcomes the world. Today, Morocco welcomes Africa," declared the CAF president, highlighting the Kingdom's ability to unite nations around the beautiful game. The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations aims to showcase the best of African football, bringing together the continent's greatest talents and some of the world's best players.
In his address, the CAF president emphasized the power of football as a unifying force, capable of transcending differences in origin, culture, and religion. He presented a vision of sport as a tool for bringing people together and promoting peace, both in Africa and globally.
Speaking about the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the CAF president proudly recalled the historic journey of the Moroccan national team, which became the first African nation to reach the semi-finals of a World Cup.
