CAN Maroc 2025 : la Tunisie domine l’Ouganda
Tipped as one of the dark horses at the Africa Cup of Nations, Tunisia lived up to expectations in their opening match. The Eagles of Carthage dominated Uganda (3-1) in a largely controlled performance.
Led by their young playmaker Hannibal Mejbri (22 years old), the Tunisian team quickly took control of the match. In the 10th minute, from a well-taken corner by Mejbri, Elyes Skhiri opened the scoring with a superb header.
Trailing on the scoreboard, Uganda tried to respond by dominating possession and being more enterprising. However, the Cranes ran into a solid Tunisian defense.
More incisive and clinical, Tunisia doubled their lead in the 40th minute. Mohamed Elias Achouri capitalized on a perfectly weighted cross from Abdi to extend their advantage.
In the second half, the Tunisians continued at the same pace. Just after the hour mark, Achouri scored his second goal, Tunisia's third, definitively sealing the fate of the match.
Despite a late goal from Denis Omedi (90+1), Tunisia secured a deserved victory and made an ideal start to their campaign at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
