Édouard Mendy : fin du suspense
Senegalese international goalkeeper Édouard Mendy has put an end to speculation about his future by reaching an agreement with the management of Saudi club Al-Ahli. Le Quotidien, citing Wiwsport, reports that he has extended his contract, which expires in the summer of 2026, for two more seasons. The agreement is considered satisfactory.
Arriving in 2023 from Chelsea on an initial three-year contract, the goalkeeper for the Lions of Senegal quickly established himself in the Jeddah club's goal, playing 92 matches in all competitions, with 39 clean sheets.
His performances were decisive for Al-Ahli, notably during the AFC Champions League title and the victory in the Saudi Arabian Super Cup.

Le championnat saoudien n'est pas mieux que celui du Sénégal. Tu n'as que 33 ans et tu es encore jeune, alors sois ambitieux et retournes jouer en Europe où tu as ta place dans les grands clubs européens pendant qu'il est encore temps car un joueur éjecté par un club saoudien signifie la retraite car il ne vaudra plus rien sur le marché.
