Finale du Trophée des champions : Le PSG confirme sa suprématie face à Marseille
Paris Saint-Germain has confirmed its supremacy in French football. The Parisians, who won everything domestically last season, have started 2026 with another trophy.
At the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait City, PSG prevailed over their great rival Marseille after a thrilling match that ended in a penalty shootout (2-2, 4-1 on penalties).
In this wide-open match, PSG quickly took the lead thanks to their Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembélé. The Parisian winger capitalized on a poor clearance from the Marseille defense to lob Rulli (13th minute).
Marseille, who had several chances to equalize, were thwarted by a superb performance from Lucas Chevalier. The Parisian goalkeeper distinguished himself by making two outstanding saves against Amine Gouiri.
In the second half, OM pressed forward and earned a penalty through Aubameyang. Mason Greenwood stepped up to take the spot-kick and equalized in the 76th minute.
Four minutes from the end of regulation time, Marseille thought they had done the hard part by taking the lead with an own goal from William Pacho (87th).
But in stoppage time, Gonzalo Ramos snatched the equalizer for PSG (90+5), sending the two teams to a penalty shootout.
During this exercise, Lucas Chevalier once again frustrated the Marseillais by stopping two attempts, thus giving Paris Saint-Germain their 14th Trophée des champions, the fourth consecutive one.
