Gana Gueye : « On veut écrire l’histoire »
After the victory that qualified Senegal for the final, Gana Gueye spoke in the mixed zone, sharing his pride and the importance of cohesion within the team.
“A lot of pride. It was a complicated, very difficult match. We knew that the opponent would wait for us and play on the counter-attack, and we were well prepared,” explained Gueye.
The Senegalese midfielder also spoke about the loss of two players for the final: "It's a shame, but as we've said from the beginning, we're a team. If we want to lift this cup, it will be with the whole team, and we demonstrated that again today."
Gana Gueye emphasized the importance of every player's dream: "That's what we asked for, it's every player's dream. We hope to lift the trophy in the end, that's what matters most."
He also paid tribute to Sadio Mané, recalling his crucial role: "He is our best player, the best in the history of Senegal. Since our youth, I knew the qualities he possessed and how far he could take the national team. We are behind him, he is with the group, and we are all together. We hope that he will allow us to lift this trophy once again."
Finally, Gana Gueye expressed his gratitude: "Happy to be here, and to thank Allah, Alhamdoulilah. We are all together and ready for the final."
