Ibrahim Mbaye : le recadrage cash de El Hadji Diouf
Ibrahim Mbaye is on cloud nine. The young PSG striker (18 years old) has just won the Champions League for the second time in a row with the Parisian club. And before this triumph, he had already won the Intercontinental Cup, the French league title, and, with Senegal, the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Every time he steps onto the pitch for the national team, he proves decisive, either by scoring or setting up his teammates. The 2026 World Cup will be a great opportunity for him to confirm the high opinion the football world has of him, particularly with a view to a transfer to a club where he will have a better chance of increasing his playing time.
But El Hadji Diouf warns the young Parisian. "In the World Cup, many players want to showcase themselves, but the strength of this team [Senegal] lies in its collective spirit. When Ibrahim Mbaye steps onto the pitch, he must think first and foremost about helping his teammates," suggests the two-time Ballon d'Or winner in an interview published this Monday in Le Soleil des Sports.
Diouf emphasized: "Senegal's true strength isn't just Ibrahim Mbaye or Sadio Mané, it's the group, the cohesion. Of course, we need these players to be at the top of their game and to confirm their status as world-class players, but always at the service of the team."
