Jimmy Cabot se paye Paul Pogba, honoré aux Globe Soccer Awards
Retired from professional football since 2024, Jimmy Cabot has criticized Paul Pogba, specifically an award the French international received at the Globe Soccer Awards.
Suspended for doping and sidelined for a long period with injury, Paul Pogba joined AS Monaco this summer. After several months of training, the midfielder returned to the pitch on November 22nd in Monaco's away match against Rennes (1-4). Since then, the ASM number 8 has played around thirty minutes across three games. At the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony, Pogba received the "Best Comeback" award.
While many football fans were surprised to see Paul Pogba receive this award, former Lens player Jimmy Cabot didn't hide his disappointment. On X, the retired player expressed his astonishment at not seeing other players honored. "Matthieu Udol, with four cruciate ligaments, returned to the starting lineup in Ligue 1 during the winter break with RCL. Bentaleb, cardiac arrest, several months out, returned to the pitch and scored the winning goal for LOSC," Cabot posted.
The former Lorient midfielder didn't stop there. At the end of his message, he questioned Paul Pogba's "return" and his legitimacy to receive the award in a few words: "Pogba suspended for doping: trophy."
