Kalidou Koulibaly : « C’était un match positif, on a montré du caractère »

Speaking to reporters in the mixed zone after the match, Kalidou Koulibaly reflected on the Lions' performance. The Senegalese captain expressed overall satisfaction with his team's display, while also highlighting areas for improvement ahead of upcoming matches.

"It was a positive match," the central defender initially stated. The game was marked by an intense first half, rich in opportunities. "We had a lot of chances in the first half. It's a shame we didn't score first," he lamented, aware of the importance of capitalizing on periods of dominance.

The second half was more contested, especially after the opposition opened the scoring. "We got back into the game, they scored, but we showed a lot of character," explained the captain. A collective response praised by Koulibaly, which allowed Senegal to leave with an important point. "Today, we're happy to have taken this point."

Facing a solid and talented Congolese team, the performance takes on a special dimension. "Congo is a very strong team, with many individual qualities. We knew it would be a difficult match, but we showed some good things," he added.

Already focused on the next decisive match, Kalidou Koulibaly spoke about the upcoming preparations. "We will prepare for the next match as we always have. It's a very important match for us. Our destiny is in our own hands, and that's the most important thing," he insisted.

In terms of the game itself, the Lions' captain highlighted many positive aspects. "Offensively, we created a lot of chances. Defensively, we tried to keep a clean sheet, even if we didn't manage it tonight," he acknowledged, before concluding with the need to continue working. "After a first match, there are always things to improve. We'll keep working."

Kalidou, par respect arrête de nous prendre pour des cons ! On a tous vu le match et on a manqué de caractère. Et puis notre équipe nationale a commencé à prendre l’eau au moment où nos joueurs ont tous décidé d’aller jouer en Arabie Saoudite et pourtant au même moment ils veulent garder leurs places de titulaires dans l’équipe nationale et nous promettent la CAN et la coupe du monde alors qu’ils ne jouent plus dans le haut niveau. Il y a beaucoup de tromperies entre Sénégalais. C’est exactement ce que DIOMAYE est entrain de nous faire subir.

Tu es capitaine et on t en remercie mais il faut déjà penser à la relève....sans le gosse de 17 ans vous aurez perdu ce match.....les cadres sont trop prévisibles trop doux
