“Le pauvre...”: Eden Hazard craint que Vinicius prenne sa retraite “à 30 ans”
Eden Hazard is worried about Vinicius Junior. The Brazilian has been embroiled in numerous off-field issues in recent seasons, making for a turbulent career. The former Red Devil, who believes all these controversies must be weighing heavily on him, wouldn't be surprised if he retires quite soon.
Will Vinicius Junior follow Eden Hazard's example and hang up his boots early? That's certainly the prediction of the former Red Devil, who believes the Brazilian will tire of the controversy. Between his perceived provocative behavior and the racist insults he has endured, "Vini" is regularly in the news. And not necessarily for his performances on the pitch.
Interviewed by RTBF, Eden Hazard expressed his concern for his former teammate (the two players played together for four seasons at Real Madrid). “Now, people talk more about what he does or what he endures than what he brings to the pitch. People forget what an exceptional player he is. It must weigh heavily on him. It can't be easy to go into a match and just think about football,” he said.
“Be careful, people are on your side.”
Before continuing: “He has so many things on his mind before a match, I sometimes think 'poor guy.' He knows he's going to have to deal with this, that not much happens in terms of sanctions. I wouldn't be surprised if at 30, he says he's leaving, that he's quitting football because, in any case, nothing changes.”
Hazard concludes with some advice for the Brazilian: “As a friend, I would tell him: 'Be careful. Play the way you want to play, but be careful. People are on your side, so play football, have fun, make us real football fans happy. When you dance, dance in a certain way so that people like you. Ronaldinho danced too, I don't remember seeing all these stories,' recalls the former Real Madrid player.
