The fourth round of CAF Champions League matches took place this weekend across the continent. In Group A, defending champions Pyramids FC of Egypt comfortably defeated RS Berkane, featuring Mamadou Lamine Camara, 3-0. In Group B, Egypt's Al Ahly (8 pts) secured a valuable point in Tanzania against Young Africans (1-1). The other match in the group saw FAR Rabat (2nd, 5 pts) defeat JS Kabylie (1-0).
In Group C, Al Hilal Omdurman of Sudan, featuring Senegalese players El Hadji Madické Kane and Ousmane Diouf, caused an upset by defeating Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1. This valuable victory puts Al Hilal in first place with 8 points. In the other match, MC Alger dominated Saint-Éloi Lupopo 2-0, a win that puts the Algerians back in contention for a place in the quarterfinals.
In Group D, Tanzania's Simba SC (4th, 1 pt) held Espérance de Tunis to a 2-2 draw. This result benefits Stade Malien, who, by securing a point away against Petro Luanda in Angola (0-0), consolidate their first place with 8 points, two points ahead of Espérance de Tunis (2nd, 6 pts).
