Match amical: La fédération sénégalaise de Football s'explique sur le choix du Kenya
The Lions of Senegal severely thrashed the Kenyans with a resounding 8-0 victory in a friendly match played in Antalya, Turkey, one month before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Pape Thiaw's men dominated the match from start to finish, showing great efficiency in front of goal against an opponent who was completely outmatched.
This resounding victory is certainly a confidence boost for the Lions after their defeat at Emirates Stadium against Brazil (0-2) last Saturday, but the opponent's truly lamentable technical abilities are raising eyebrows. Many are questioning the decision to face a sluggish Kenyan team (ranked 109th in the FIFA 2025 rankings), especially when Pape Thiaw's squad – on a mission to reclaim the title – needs benchmark matches to better prepare for the competition.
In an interview with RTS1 yesterday, Monday, the Secretary General of the Senegalese Football Federation, Abdoulaye Sow, explained the decision. According to him, all the other African teams contacted for a friendly match against the Lions declined. "Four or five countries we contacted declined. So we spoke with Kenya, who agreed to play after their match against Equatorial Guinea here in Antalya. It was that or nothing!" said Abdoulaye Sow, who announced that the Lions will play a friendly match in Dakar on December 13, after the ceremony where the national flag will be presented by the President of the Republic.
However, the next one is not yet known.

Donc personne n'a voulu du Senegal en amical, c'est pourquoi on a pris le Kenya qui etait preneur. Personne n'est fou, ces pays evitent le Senegal qui est un client serieux pour la prochaine CAN.

Faut pas trop rêver loin en mieux Administratif et gestion avec cette nouvelle Fédération et personnes non Vertueuses.
