MMA : Moustapha Diakhaté tient tête au Français Paulin Bégai
Moustapha Diakhaté fought his fifth MMA fight this Saturday. The young Senegalese fighter, who was vying for the vacant Ares light heavyweight (93 kg) championship belt, drew with Frenchman Paulin Bégai after a hard-fought 25-minute bout.
Facing a more experienced opponent, Moustapha Diakhaté showed a strong face by taking several initiatives. Dominant in the first round, the Diourbel native nevertheless showed some signs of fatigue thereafter. Despite this, he was able to hold his own against a seasoned fighter.
Although he failed to secure the belt, the young Senegalese fighter nevertheless maintained his unbeaten record, bringing his record to four wins and one draw. Supported before the fight by a call from Kalidou Koulibaly, Moustapha Diakhaté promised to come back stronger to claim the light-heavyweight belt.
