Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry would be delighted to play alongside LeBron James, who is looking for a franchise after leaving the Los Angeles Lakers, but acknowledges that the NBA's all-time leading scorer is highly sought after and that it "depends a little bit on him."

"I feel like as soon as he says 'I want to play there', we'll move mountains to make his wish come true," said the Warriors' point guard on Thursday, who at 38 holds the all-time NBA three-point record and has just finished his 17th season, still wearing the same jersey.

But Curry is well aware that he's not the only one in this situation. "It depends a little bit on him," he stated at a press conference before a celebrity golf tournament in Nevada.

At 41, LeBron James, who can play several positions—point guard, power forward, shooting guard—has decided to continue his NBA career for a 24th season. But not with the Los Angeles Lakers, where his contract expired and with whom he finished his eighth season with a crushing 4-0 sweep in the Western Conference semifinals against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the 2025 NBA champions.

"The argument is this: you want to play good basketball and be around players who know how to play?" Curry added, in a strong overture to LeBron James, against whom he played in four consecutive NBA Finals from 2015 to 2018 when James was playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"We are a franchise (the Warriors) with experience. He knows that," the Warriors' sharpshooter emphasized. "It all depends on the role he thinks he can play. Ultimately, it's up to him to decide," reiterated the player who won an Olympic gold medal in Paris in 2024 with the "Dream Team" that also included LeBron James.

The Golden State Warriors are among the many clubs, along with the Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers, among others -- mentioned as a future destination for the four-time NBA champion and four-time MVP.

Rich Paul, the player's agent, said on a podcast Monday that about ten teams could seriously contend to secure James' services.
