NBA : Soirée record pour le Sénégalais Mouhamed Gueye qui éteint les Lakers
The Atlanta Hawks caused an upset by winning at home against the Los Angeles Lakers (198-105) despite the absence of their stars Trae Young and Kristaps Porzingis.
The victory bears the mark of the young Senegalese center Mouhamed Gueye, who delivered a decisive and dazzling performance. Gueye was the architect of this success, scoring 21 points (an NBA career high), including four three-pointers (also a personal best), grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out seven assists (another NBA career high).
The Hawks took an early lead, an advantage the Lakers were never able to overcome. Their star, Luka Dončić, had a disappointing offensive performance, finishing with 22 points, five rebounds, and 11 assists. Frenchman Zaccharie Risacher also contributed to Atlanta's victory with 19 points.
“When you have injuries, it’s an opportunity for others to step up – tonight, we seized that opportunity,” Hawks coach Quin Snyder said. Atlanta now has a 5.0 record, sitting in ninth place in the Eastern Conference.
