OM : Habib Bèye donne la formule pour regagner la confiance des supporters en colère
It's safe to say. Olympique de Marseille supporters are not satisfied with their team's performances. Last Saturday, during the match against Toulouse at the Vélodrome, they unfurled a banner that blatantly read: "YOU ARE SHIT." A message directly addressed to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's teammates after their elimination from the Coupe de France against the same team from Toulouse.
Despite the revenge taken by the Phocaeans on their opponent (1-0), the Marseille ultras again showed their anger by booing the players who came to greet them at the end of the match.
"From time to time, there's a fire, and then the fire goes out on its own."
In a press conference, OM coach Habib Bèye acknowledged the current tension between his squad and the fans. "I'll repeat what I said when I arrived: 'Sometimes there's a fire, and it goes out on its own.' It goes out on its own through your behavior on the pitch, through what the fans see, because deep down, I'll tell you: 'There's the banner, there aren't the chants, there isn't the support, but I can guarantee you that every single one of those people in the stands loves OM with their whole being.' So, you must never question those fans," said Habib Bèye. "The best way to win them back is to be the team we were tonight, with unwavering dedication," the Senegalese coach asserted.
For him, Marseille supporters only remember "the people who fight, who give their all for their club." "If at some point they perceive that in the course of the matches, then we will bring them back with us," Habib Bèye believes.
