Pape Thiaw sur Kalidou Koulibaly : « Titulaire ou pas ? La décision sera prise le jour du match »
On the eve of the highly anticipated quarter-final between Senegal and Mali, the Lions' coach, Pape Thiaw, spoke at a press conference about the return and importance of Kalidou Koulibaly in the group.
The coach made no secret of the central defender's importance to the team's balance: "We all know what Kalidou Koulibaly represents for this team. Having him in the squad is very important. Just knowing he's with us means a great deal."
For Pape Thiaw, Kalidou's presence brings much more than his footballing qualities: "it also strengthens the group's mentality and serenity."
When asked about his captain's starting position, the coach remained cautious: "We'll see tomorrow whether he'll start or not. It's not decided yet."
One thing is certain: Kalidou is ready and available. "In any case, we are very happy to have him back. He's here, he can play with us, and we know perfectly well what he can bring to this team."
