Will Reug Reug, recently defeated by Anatoly Malykhin who snatched the MMA heavyweight world title from him, be able to face Boy Niang on June 7th? The fight's organizer, Makane Mbengue of Gaston Productions, is adamant. "Thank God, the fight between Reug Reug and Boy Niang 2 will take place on June 7th. I am convinced it will happen on the scheduled date," he declared, as reported by Record.

For those interpreting the brutality of the Thiaroye fighter's fall as grounds for forfeiting the scheduled bout in less than three weeks, Makane Mbengue clarifies some technical points: "People are talking about a KO, but Reug Reug wasn't knocked out; he lost by TKO [technical knockout]. It was a referee's decision, not a knockout. The referee stopped the fight because he judged that Reug Reug was no longer defending himself. This is contrary to a knockout. Those familiar with martial arts can confirm this."
