Sénégal–Égypte (1-0) : «Un agrégé face à un élève de l’élémentaire», la comparaison ironique de Claude Leroy
The Senegal-Egypt match, won by the Lions (1-0), continues to generate reactions from African football observers. Claude Leroy, former coach of Cameroon and Senegal and a pundit on Canal+, didn't mince words when describing the gap in quality between the two teams. His analysis of the match was even tinged with irony during a program broadcast on the private channel.
"In fact, this meeting was like a professor facing a student taking the primary school leaving certificate. The problem is that this exam allows you to move on to 6th grade, not to go to the final," he said.
With this deliberately provocative comparison, Claude Leroy wanted to illustrate the technical and tactical mastery displayed by Senegal, against an Egyptian team in difficulty and unable to compete with the Senegalese.
