Sénégal-Kenya (8-0) - Les joueurs et le jeu : Sadio et Jackson s’amusent, Ibrahim Mbaye brille

Three days after their 2-0 defeat to Brazil, Senegal bounced back in spectacular fashion, demolishing a weak Kenyan side 8-0. Playing a 3-4-3 formation, the Lions delivered a true attacking masterclass. Sadio Mané was particularly impressive, netting a hat-trick (17th, 31st, and 35th minutes). Already convincing after his strong performance against Brazil, Nicolas Jackson bagged a brace (7th and 15th minutes). Making his first start, the young talent Ibrahim Mbaye shone, winning a penalty before scoring the seventh goal.

Even though the opponent was very weak, the Lions displayed an attractive, serious and focused attitude in all their actions.

Édouard Mendy: 5/10

After making two crucial saves against Brazil, Édouard Mendy had a quiet match in goal against Kenya. In both the first and second halves, the Lions' last line of defense had virtually nothing to do against a non-existent attack.

Ilay Camara: 7/10

Deployed as a right wing-back, the Anderlecht player was very attack-minded. Against a weak opponent, he had no defensive duties to perform. Always available, the Senegalese full-back delivered a solid and clean performance on his right flank.

Kalidou Koulibaly: 6/10

In a three-man defense, the Lions' captain had a quiet game. Serious as usual, he didn't have much to do.   Replaced in the 63rd minute by Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly, the latter once again distinguished himself with his speed and agility.

Abdoulaye Seck: 6/10

As in his recent outings, the Maccabi Haifa defender was solid and consistent. Even though the Kenyan attackers never troubled him, Abdoulaye Seck remained composed, composed, and strong in both his tackles and his clearances.

Mamadou Sarr: 6/10

In his first appearance for Senegal, the young Strasbourg defender looked comfortable. Solid in duels and clean in his passing, he made an impressive debut, despite the weak opposition.

Replaced in the 46th minute by Rassoul Ndiaye, who missed a great opportunity to score his first goal for the national team.

El Hadj Malick Diouf: 7/10

Deployed as a left wing-back, he perfectly fulfilled this attacking role. He scored the Lions' second goal (12th minute) and was involved in several dangerous attacks. A complete performance from the West Ham full-back.

Pathé Ciss: 7/10

Starting in the holding midfield role, he was solid and disciplined in his tackles. Moved to central defense in the second half, he was just as reliable, commanding in duels and precise in his distribution. A complete performance from the Rayo Vallecano player.

Pape Guèye: 6/10

In Pape Thiaw's new 3-4-3 system, Pape Guèye was solid in midfield. Simple and effective in his passing, and defensively sound, he delivered a clean performance despite the weakness of the opposition.   Replaced in the 46th minute by Mamadou Lamine Camara, who made a good entrance, simple and clean with the ball at his feet.

Ibrahim Mbaye: 7/10

Starting alongside Sadio Mané and Nicolas Jackson, the young Parisian began tentatively. But once repositioned on the left wing, he became much more incisive, winning the penalty for the fifth goal. In the second half, playing with complete freedom, he scored the seventh goal from a Jackson assist. A very accomplished match for the 17-year-old striker, who was replaced in the 63rd minute by Idrissa Gana Gueye.

Nicolas Jackson: 8/10

He was the one who launched the attacking onslaught by opening the scoring, after leaving the Kenyan defense in his wake. He then added a third goal, scoring his first brace for the national team. In the second half, he set up Ibrahim Mbaye for the seventh goal before being substituted in the 62nd minute by Chérif Ndiaye, who scored the eighth goal from a penalty he himself had won.

Sadio Mané: 8/10

In an all-too-easy match, the former Liverpool player feasted, scoring a hat trick. The Lions' star took the opportunity to pad his stats and bring his total to 52 goals for the national team. He was substituted in the 46th minute by Boulaye Dia.
