Sénégal-Pérou : Nobel Mendy partage ses émotions et celles de...
Nobel Mendy is among the new faces in Senegal's squad for the friendly matches against Peru and Gambia. In comments reported by Les Échos, the Rayo Vallecano (Spanish Liga) defender calmly and emotionally discussed the announcement of his first call-up to the national team. "I first spoke to my agent. Then I was able to talk with the coach [Pape Thiaw] and other close associates," revealed the 21-year-old (1.87m, 83kg).
While admitting to feeling "joy and pride" upon joining the Senegalese national team, Mendy adds that his parents are equally thrilled: they are displaying "immense joy," reports the newly capped international. Pathé Ciss's club teammate emphasizes: "Becoming a professional footballer was already a dream. But playing for my country was my parents' dream, and mine too. So it's a dream come true."
