The football world has its eyes on Doha. The Qatari capital is hosting the tenth edition of The Best FIFA Football Awards this Tuesday, December 16, 2025, a prestigious ceremony during which the best players in world football of the year will be revealed.

Organised on the eve of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2025 final, which will pit Paris Saint-Germain against Flamengo, the event will bring together football stars, executives and football legends for a gala evening under the banner of excellence.

Players, coaches, and other athletes will be honored with several major awards. FIFA reported massive fan participation, with nearly 16 million votes cast worldwide. These popular votes were counted alongside those of national team captains, coaches, and media representatives. Ousmane Dembélé, the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner, is the overwhelming favorite this year. Lamine Yamat, Kylian Mbappé, Harry Kane, and Achraf Hakimi are also strong contenders for the award.

In addition to individual trophies, the ceremony will also reward the best goal of the year, the fair play award and the award for best fans, confirming FIFA's desire to celebrate all dimensions of football.

It should be noted that the captain of the Atlas Lions, Achraf Hakimi, is among the nominees for the prestigious trophy for best player of the year, a recognition of his impact and consistency at the highest level.
