Infrastructures : Ouverture du tronçon Mbour – Thiadiaye ce mercredi 29 avril
On the instructions of the President of the Republic and under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Land Transport and the Ministry of Infrastructure announced the official opening of the Mbour-Thiadiaye section. This new segment of the Mbour-Fatick-Kaolack toll highway will be accessible to users starting Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 8:00 a.m.
This is a major step towards opening up and improving traffic flow to the central and southern regions of the country. After a phase of intensive work, the section linking Mbour to Thiadiaye is now operational. This opening reflects the government's commitment to modernizing the national road network and improving the safety of road transport.
In a statement released on April 24, ministerial authorities urged road users to exercise extreme caution. Strict adherence to the rules of the road is an absolute priority to ensure everyone's safety on this new expressway.
To ensure optimal traffic flow, the Governor of the Thiès region, in collaboration with AGEROUTE Senegal and the Senegalese Highway Company (ADS), has been instructed to take all necessary measures. These measures aim to guarantee the smooth and safe movement of people and goods from the very first hours of opening.
The extension of the highway to Thiadiaye is a key component of the overall project linking Dakar to Kaolack. By reducing travel times and offering a modern alternative to the national highway, this section should boost trade and facilitate the movement of people between the economic hubs of Thiès and the central region.
