146ᵉ Appel des Layènes : La BNDE marque sa présence à Cambérène avec une contribution financière significative
True to its tradition of supporting major religious events in Senegal, the National Bank for Economic Development (BNDE) paid a courtesy and solidarity visit to the General Khalif of the Layene at his residence in Cambérène on Thursday, January 15.
This initiative is part of the 146th edition of the Call of the Layene community, a major religious event that attracts thousands of pilgrims each year from all regions of Senegal and the diaspora.
A high-level delegation was received by the Caliph General
The BNDE delegation, led by Alioune Dramé, Special Advisor to the Bank's Director General, was received in audience by the Khalif General of the Layene community. On this occasion, the bank presented a significant financial contribution, the amount of which was not disclosed, as well as thousands of packs of water, as a contribution to the success of the event.
"We have been mandated to come and contribute, as the National Development Bank, to the Layene Appeal. Our presence is fully justified by the very identity of the BNDE," explained Alioune Dramé.
A national bank serving all Senegalese
The special advisor recalled that the BNDE is the only Senegalese bank more than 95% owned by the State of Senegal, its subsidiaries and national companies, which gives it a special mission to support initiatives of national interest.
"This event belongs to all of Senegal. It is therefore natural that the BNDE contributes to it as it does every time the country needs it," he stressed.
A deeply rooted tradition
Asked about the routine nature of this contribution, Alioune Dramé confirmed the bank's presence at major events: "Yes, absolutely. BNDE regularly supports major religious, sporting and social events in Senegal. We were in Tivaouane, Kaolack, Touba, and today in Cambérène, as we usually do."
Without going into specific figures, he nevertheless wanted to emphasize the substantial and symbolic nature of the support provided again this year by the BNDE.
A strong gesture of social responsibility
Through this action, the BNDE reaffirms its strong involvement in the religious and social life of the country, thus consolidating its image as a civic financial institution, close to communities and attentive to the values of solidarity and sharing.
This gesture, highly appreciated by the Layene community, illustrates once again BNDE's commitment to being a constant partner in major spiritual and national events, serving social cohesion and development in Senegal.
