The Noom Hotel hosted a workshop on Tuesday, December 2nd, to evaluate and validate the results of Women's Week 2025 and CSW69. This workshop is part of the implementation of the National Transformation Agenda "Senegal 2050," which prioritizes gender equality and women's empowerment. The meeting brought together representatives from the Ministry of Family, Social Action and Solidarity, civil society organizations, and members of the Senegalese delegation who participated in CSW69.

The overall objective is to develop a consolidated action plan to improve the condition of Senegalese women, to document the lessons learned from CSW69 and to outline the preparation for Women's Week 2026. According to Ms. Salimata Ba, technical advisor in the office of the Minister of Family, this workshop responds to the instructions of the President of the Republic, who ordered in-depth consultations to build a concrete action plan in favor of the empowerment of women.

Ms. Ba explained that Women's Week 2025 facilitated the collection of proposals from across the 14 regions and 8 territorial hubs. These contributions were translated into an operational action plan. The objective now is to provide women with a financial mechanism and a support system for the implementation of this plan, aiming to sustainably improve their living conditions.

For her part, Ms. Safiétou Diop Fall, a prominent figure in civil society, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and non-governmental organizations. She issued a passionate appeal against violence, highlighting a worrying increase in attacks projected for 2025, with a record number of femicides. She stressed the need to ratify the African Regional Convention on Combating Violence against Women and Girls, adopted last February.

Finally, Ms. Fall emphasized the importance of strengthening economic empowerment through financing for women-owned businesses and the urgent need to implement the recommendations of CSW69. Once implemented, this consolidated action plan should address the grievances of women citizens and promote genuine economic and social empowerment in Senegal.
