Dakar Dem Dikk s’engage concrètement pour l’inclusion de ses agents en situation de handicap

To mark National Disability Week (December 3-10, 2025), Dakar Dem Dikk organized a forum dedicated to the inclusion and equity of workers with disabilities this Thursday, December 4, at the Babacar Touré Press House.

Initiated by the company's Association for People with Disabilities, this meeting brought together employees, social partners, senior management, and experts around a clear objective: to improve working conditions and strengthen inclusion. The Association's president, Coumba Ndiaye, emphasized the importance of this annual event: "It's a time to assess what has been done and what still needs improvement."

She praised the openness and commitment of the management, which allows disabled workers to freely express their needs and actively participate in decisions that affect them. For his part, the Director General, Assane Mbengue, announced strong and immediate measures.

Aware of the physical difficulties faced by some employees assigned to operational roles, he stated: “Starting in January 2026, these workers will be redeployed to departments better suited to their situation.” He also promised enhanced continuing education: “We will develop their skills to facilitate their integration into all departments of the company, under optimal conditions of safety and comfort.”

Through moving testimonials, insightful panels, and constructive discussions, participants highlighted the valuable and often overlooked contribution of employees with disabilities. Described as "courageous individuals who have contributed for years to the productivity and smooth operation of the company," they were widely recognized and valued.

This forum marks a decisive step in Dakar Dem Dikk's social policy, which now displays a clear ambition: to make inclusion a concrete reality, based on fairness, respect for skills and the effective adaptation of jobs to the needs of each individual. A day marked by active listening and firm commitment, laying the foundations for a fairer and sustainably inclusive professional environment.
