The social and technological innovation ecosystem was in the spotlight this Wednesday, October 29, at the Orange Academy, on the occasion of the 14th national edition of the Orange Social Entrepreneur Prize in Africa and the Middle East (POESAM).

Initiated in 2011, POESAM is a flagship program of Sonatel which aims to support and promote innovative projects with a strong social and environmental impact, led by startups, entrepreneurs and project leaders.

Through this edition, Sonatel reaffirms its commitment to social entrepreneurship and digital inclusion on the continent, offering the winners international visibility to positively transform African communities. This ceremony highlights emerging talents whose technological solutions provide concrete answers to major social, economic, and environmental challenges in Senegal and Africa.

Ms. Awa Niang, Director of Institutional Communication and External Relations at Sonatel, emphasized the group's philosophy:

"This ceremony reflects our belief that innovation and technology can serve the common good. By supporting these young entrepreneurs, we are helping to build a more inclusive and sustainable digital ecosystem."

Ms. Niang praised the quality of the three national winners who presented solutions affecting key sectors: agriculture, poultry farming and the environment (including carbon management).

Beyond a financial reward, the Senegalese winners obtain an invaluable opportunity: participation in the international final of POESAM; access to technical partnerships; training programs and personalized support to strengthen the viability and impact of their projects.

The meeting brought together a wide range of participants, including the national jury, institutional representatives, strategic partners, former winners, influencers and Sonatel management.
