The "Teranga" CD, recorded in April 1992 in Helsinki, was released as two cassettes in Dakar, with the first one out in December 1992. It contained this song, which rapidly became a major radio hit. The video was released to the TV station two months later, and it solidified the songs position as a major success for the band. Bamba also entered the radio popularity poll directly at number 2, and another song from the same album, "Diakhle" entered at number 6 at the same time.
