In a press release made public, the Carrefour-Citoyens movement expressed its deep concern and indignation at the unexplained halt to the asphalting work on the Baba Garage - Mékhé road, a project of capital importance for the populations of this region.

"This project, started a few months ago, is now suspended, depriving citizens of a modern and essential infrastructure for their travel and local economic development.

In addition, we note with growing concern the slow pace of the asphalting work on the Bambey - Baba Garage - Touba Toul road, which had nevertheless started with collective enthusiasm. While significant progress was expected, the work is progressing at an abnormally slow pace, leaving the population in a situation of great precariousness. Access to these roads, essential for the fluidity of economic exchanges and the comfort of users, is increasingly difficult, which has serious consequences for the lives of citizens. The Carrefour-Citoyens movement cannot tolerate this situation, which demonstrates a flagrant lack of management of public infrastructure projects, despite the promises made to the populations. We call on the competent authorities to take urgent measures to immediately resume work on the Baba Garage - Mékhé road and accelerate work on Bambey - Baba Garage - Touba Toul.

It is unacceptable that projects of such magnitude, intended to improve the quality of life of thousands of citizens, are abandoned or slowed down for inexplicable reasons. The Carrefour-Citoyens movement demands clear explanations and concrete actions to restore the situation as soon as possible. We remain vigilant and will continue to firmly defend the interests of citizens and the proper use of public funds."
