Thanks to a double from its Brazilian virtuoso Raphinha, FC Barcelona validated its ticket for the quarter-finals of the Champions League by beating Benfica (3-1). Winners in the first leg in Lisbon (1-0), the Catalans confirmed, this Tuesday at home, their superiority over their opponent.
Led by the Raphinha-Yamal duo, Hansi Flick's men quickly took the lead in this match. In the 11th minute, Raphinha opened the scoring on a pass from Lamine Yamal. However, Benfica quickly equalized thanks to the Argentinian defender Otamendi (13th). Unfazed by this surprise equalizer, the Catalans went back on the attack by putting pressure on the Portuguese defense.
In the 27th minute, Lamine Yamal gave the Blaugranas the lead again with a superb curling shot. Dominating and displaying perfect technical mastery, FC Barcelona finally put themselves out of the lead, with another goal from Raphinha. The Brazilian left-footer, well served by Alejandro Baldé, scored with an unstoppable shot and scored a double (42nd).
Thanks to this result acquired at half-time, FC Barcelona has secured its ticket to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
