256 contractuels du projet Buffet sans salaire : Le SAMES tape du poing sur la table
The Autonomous Union of Physicians, Pharmacists, and Dental Surgeons of Senegal (SAMES) is raising its voice in the face of what it calls an "unfair and unacceptable situation." In a press release published on September 15, 2025, SAMES denounced the precariousness experienced by the 256 contract workers recruited as part of the Buffet project, whose contracts have expired and who, for a month now, have still not received their salaries.
According to the union, this situation illustrates the lack of accountability with which health human resources are managed in Senegal. "All work done deserves remuneration," the union organization points out, deploring fixed-term contracts that are not renewed and without regularizing acquired rights, undermining the dignity of health professionals and the quality of public service.
In its statement, the union expressed its full support for the affected contract workers and demanded the immediate payment of their wages. SAMES also called for the immediate regularization of these workers still working in the country's various health facilities.
More broadly, the union is calling on the authorities to urgently find lasting solutions to human resources management in the health sector.
For the SAMES National Executive Board, the increase in precarious situations is weakening a system already facing numerous challenges, notably the shortage of qualified personnel.
Finally, SAMES reaffirms its determination to defend the material and moral rights of its members, by using all legal union means to make its voice heard.

Je suis d'accord avec le SAMES en ce qui concerne le manque de personnel pour la santé à l'échelle nationale. Cependant, ce communiqué campe dans les limites confortables de la généralités. On sent une direction syndicale qui est dans sa mission de défendre un groupe d'adhérents en difficulté, mais on sent également qu'elle ment par omission; j'ai l'impression que le SAMES sait que les autorités ont juridiquement "blindés" les contrats de CDD, alors on brode sur un mois de salaire (peut-être hors contrat?) qui n'aurait pas été payé, et sur la nécessité de renforcer les ressources humaines. De mon point de vue, c'est sur ce dernier aspect qu'il faut négocier mais sans bruit.
Ce sont des rates comme talibes qui sont autour de ce menteur! Oui toi talibe tu n es qu un rate,donc reste mouton et laisse les autres. Quand on vous disait que ces gens sont menteurs,ils n ont pas projet, v9us insultiez les gens. Voila le Fmi a bloque ses financements, sonko le manipulateur menteur va voir ses moutons de la diaspora pour leur demander de financer le gouvernement.
