QNET adopte une démarche ferme contre les escroqueries en Afrique

QNET, a direct selling wellness and lifestyle company, has highlighted its commitment to transparency, educating its distributors, and combating scams that use its name to defraud innocent citizens in Senegal and other parts of Africa. This renewed commitment was announced during QNET's 27th anniversary celebration at VCON 2025 in Malaysia from September 10 to 18. This is one of QNET's largest gatherings, bringing together nearly 10,000 attendees from around the world, and Seneweb was also invited to attend, alongside other renowned media outlets in Africa.

“These scammers are giving our business a bad name and targeting many large corporations,” said Ramya Chandrasekaran, Group Communications Director of QI, QNET’s parent company. She said the scammers are exploiting the brand’s reputation to offer fake job or visa offers.

Some scams also come from uninformed distributors who, disappointed by the effort required in direct selling, turn it into a scheme promising quick profits. "We do everything possible to identify these people, and where possible, we work with local authorities to bring them to justice," she said.

In response to the scale of the problem, QNET launched the "Say No" campaign in 2022, a media and public awareness program against fraud, human trafficking, and financial scams. This initiative was carried out in Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and Senegal, with messages translated not only into English and French, but also into local dialects, such as Wolof, to reach vulnerable populations in rural areas.

QNET also launched "QNET Against Scams," a highly successful media and educational campaign using posters, radio, television, online, and social media to spread information about what QNET is and isn't. This campaign has been rolled out in Ghana and Senegal, and is currently underway in Sierra Leone.

"We also have a WhatsApp number for people to report suspected cases," she said. In 2025, more than 1,000 reports were received, of which 70 cases were forwarded to authorities for further investigation.

The company recognizes that it is essential to continue training its own distributors. "We need to explain what direct selling really is, how to properly promote our products, and what best practices there are to avoid confusion with scam schemes," she said.

Two separate training programs are now offered to professionalize distributors and prevent misleading representations of the QNET opportunity.

QNET continues to actively collaborate with the media and law enforcement to restore the brand's image and protect consumers.

Educational campaigns via SMS, local radio and social media are also planned in Senegal to inform the population and give them the means to identify scams and contact the company if in doubt.

In conclusion, QNET officials, who spoke to journalists from many African countries during a special session during VCON 2025, reaffirmed their commitment to continuing their transparency and education policies, with new awareness campaigns planned for 2026.

"We are transparent. We want people to understand what QNET is, and we want the media and law enforcement to understand our model to prevent any confusion with criminal networks," they assured.

    A éviter impérativement
