TAMBACOUNDA : La gendarmerie démantèle un vaste réseau de vente de médicaments
Members of the Tambacounda gendarmerie company successfully put an end to the criminal activities of a vast network trafficking in medical products, illegal practice of pharmacy, and endangering the health of others. Three individuals were arrested with an impressive haul of medications intended for sale.
These arrests follow a large-scale security operation at the weekly markets carried out on September 14 at 4 p.m. An operation which led to the arrest of A. Boye, aged 36, with medication consisting of 20 boxes of paracetamol, six boxes of Cortim, two boxes of Realy Extra, 20 sachets of Sudrex, seven tablets of Mokzoles, 12 tablets of Dyclosa 5, 20 boxes of Super Nugget, 20 boxes of Ronfit Forte, 10 boxes of Dyclopara, three boxes of Ciloxit 200, two boxes of Gebedol, 16 boxes of Viagra, nine boxes of Gana, 12 sachets of Kilpane, one box of 10 sachets of Feed Finer.
As for Mr. Diallo, aged 67, he was found in possession of four boxes of Ronfit Forte, 11 boxes of Gana, 20 boxes of Super Peptee Realy Extra, nine packets of Viagra, 10 packets of Mokzole, five tablets of Vegapar Extra, nine of Alhamm 200, three boxes of Dyclosa, four boxes of Dyclopara, a packet of 16 boxes, three boxes of 10 Para 500 tablets, three boxes of Penicillin, one box of 10 Gebediclo 500 tablets, one box of 10 Cortim tablets, 10 boxes of Anidiclo, four sachets of Peladol Extra.
The third accused, T. Faye, born in 1956 in Touba, was arrested with two boxes of Primoctine, six boxes of Anidrex, four boxes of Realy Extra, nine packets of Sudrex, 16 packets of Purgrey 100, five tablets of Jenitrim, six tablets of paracetamol, 16 packets of Super Peptee, and finally, A. Camara, aged 50, was arrested with five boxes and four tablets of Reality-Extra.
Taken to the police headquarters of the Koumpentoum brigade, the accused unanimously declared that they had acquired the drugs in Gambia. They added that they were intended for sale. The investigation is ongoing pending their referral to the Tambacounda prosecutor's office at the end of their statutory period of custody.
