Niger : Plus de 56 000 sinistrés et 47 morts dans les inondations
As of August 20, 2025, heavy rains in Niger have caused 56,730 victims, including 47 deaths and 70 injuries, according to the General Directorate of Civil Protection (DGPC).
The floods affected 7,754 households in 339 villages and neighborhoods in 78 municipalities across 46 departments. Among the victims, 30 died as a result of collapses and 17 by drowning. The disaster also caused the loss of 257 livestock.
As a reminder, in 2024, the government had mobilized 12 billion CFA francs to support families affected by the floods.
