The Coordination of Students of Saint-Louis (CESL) organized a peaceful march in tribute to Alpha Yéro Tounkara and Prospère Clédor Senghor, two students who tragically died during clashes with security forces last year. This mobilization was also an opportunity for the students to reiterate their demand: the repeal of the amnesty law, which they consider a major obstacle to the manifestation of the truth.

"The student community of Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis does not forgive and does not forget," hammered Alpha Issaga Diallo, president of the CESL session, in front of a determined crowd. The demonstrators marched in the streets of Sanar to remind the authorities of the need to render justice and recognize the memory of their missing comrades.

CESL has also filed an official request with the university authorities to have marquees 1 and 2 on campus renamed in the names of the two deceased students, Alpha Yéro Tounkara and Prospère Clédor Senghor. This initiative aims to inscribe their memory in the heritage of Gaston Berger University, while reminding future generations of the sacrifices made for justice and student rights.

The students' demands extend beyond the campus boundaries. The coordination urges the State of Senegal to respect the commitments announced by Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, in particular by repealing the amnesty law. According to CESL, this legislation constitutes an obstacle to establishing the truth and holding perpetrators of violence accountable.

"We ask the authorities to show responsibility and respect towards the students. Light must be shed on the case of our martyred comrades," insisted Alpha Issaga Diallo.

The peaceful march took place without incident, but the students' message resonates strongly: justice, memory, and responsibility remain at the heart of their concerns. As the debate over the amnesty law continues to stir public opinion, the student community at Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis intends to continue its mobilization until its voices are fully heard.
