The investigation into the case of the four-month-old baby found in a well in the Vélingara department is progressing rapidly! Gendarmes from the Diaobé Brigade have arrested Souadou S(...), the victim's mother.

Investigators have gathered serious and consistent evidence justifying her placement in custody on suspicion of murdering her baby Amadou, according to Seneweb sources.

What happened?

The daughter of a prominent local religious authority, Souadou had married an expatriate. But the woman became pregnant while her husband was away abroad. She was repudiated by her husband.

Souadou finally gave birth at her family home. However, the biological father of her baby, Amadou Diouldé Sall, has not yet been identified, according to Seneweb sources.

Faced with this situation, she allegedly simulated the kidnapping of her infant on the night of June 21 to 22, 2025, around 4 a.m. in the Ngaba neighborhood located in the commune of Diaobé-Kabendou, department of Vélingara. But the lifeless body of the four-month-old child was later discovered in a well.

When questioned by investigators, Souadou initially stated that she had been impregnated by a Guinean worker passing through Diaobé. Under pressure from investigators, she later retracted her statement, accusing a local resident of being the father of her deceased baby, Amadou.

Summoned and questioned, the man categorically denied having a sexual relationship with the married woman. Ultimately, he was released after his interrogation.

It appears from the first elements of the case that Souadou threw her baby, born in an adulterous relationship, into the well.
