omar sow
On June 4, 2025, during the hearing at the Dakar Court of Flagrant Offences, the public prosecutor requested a one-year sentence, including 6 months in prison, along with a fine of 200,000 FCFA against Omar Sow, former minister-advisor to Macky Sall and member of the Alliance for the Republic (APR).
Prosecuted for spreading false news, Sow is accused of having declared, on the program Ultimatum on Seneweb, that the prosecution had planned the placement of the former Minister of Justice, Ismaila Madior Fall, under electronic monitoring.
In court, Sow pleaded a "slip of the tongue," apologizing to prosecutor Ibrahima Ndoye.
